Inventor First Steps

This section is dedicated to educating "new" inventors about the invention process. The first thing many inventors should learn is properly Recording Your Invention. Detailed records assist the inventor in Establishing an Invention Date which can be important during the patent process. In addition, inventors are encouraged to Maintain Confidentiality about their invention during the early stages of the invention process. You should consult with a patent attorney prior to taking any action that could compromise your invention.

We have a list of Inventor Tools that all inventors should be familiar with and utilize frequently. We also have information on how to conduct your own Market Analysis yourself for free. We also have information how to conduct your own Marketability Evaluation yourself for free or with the assistance of third-parties.
